Cynthia began her modeling career as a model New York. She was quickly signed on to a contract for five years with Wihelmina Models, which led her to the very lucrative first book as the cover of Essence Magazine. Cynthia's cover design for Essence wasn't just one of their most successful covers, but was Susan Taylor's favourite. Cynthia was soon to book her second cover. It set her career in motion. Then she moved to Paris and Milan where she was spotted in the fashion shows of Paris Fashion Week and Milan Fashion Week. After having lived abroad for nearly an entire time, Cynthia was back in New York City and participated in high demand landing advertisements with Maybelline, Oil of Olay and Macy's. Vogue editorials followed as Glamour magazine, Elle, Essence Vanity Fair and Glamour. One of her most memorable career moments was being chosen against Naomi Campbell for a co-starring role opposite Sandra Bernhadt in the film "Without You I'm Nothing."
